Le Pavillon
A new flagship for a celebrated chef
For acclaimed chef Daniel Boulud’s new Midtown flagship at One Vanderbilt, the branding needed to honor the legacy of New York’s great French restaurants while establishing a forward-looking tone that reflected the chef’s innovative approach to modern dining.
The result was Le Pavillon, a name inspired by Le Restaurant du Pavillon de France—the groundbreaking culinary exhibition at the 1939 World’s Fair in New York that introduced French cuisine to America and paved the way for legendary institutions like La Grenouille, La Caravelle, and La Côte Basque. The identity was designed to capture the elegance of these iconic establishments while signaling a contemporary ethos, bridging the timeless traditions of French dining to modern culinary innovation.
"Le Pavillon is among the top‑design restaurants, “a nature‑themed oasis with a live‑tree path.”
