In the 80s, Kimpton pioneered the boutique hotel as we know it — and now, under the ownership of IHG, the brand is being redefined as a global, and more luxurious, expression of its founding values: human service, local experiences and authentic personality.
As Kimpton has become the world’s fastest growing lifestyle luxury brand, we worked with IHG to help update the way they go about creating local brands that deliver on “Kimpton-ness” across a wider range of local cultures and property types, and with a higher level of sophistication .
Through this work, we identified a unique take on luxury that differentiates Kimpton from the stuffy materialism of the past as well as the “try hard” clichés of so many modern hotels. We refined the process IHG uses to engage ownership, the Kimpton team and agency partners in the creation of each new property around the world. And we developed brand management tools to ensure operating teams are driving the vision through the everyday guest experience.
