We partnered with Brent Bolthouse to develop the branding for The Bungalow, an oceanside bar and lounge on the grounds of The Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica. Featuring a laid-back, bohemian SoCal vibe, The Bungalow embodies the spirit of 1970s-era, pre-digital surfside culture.

Our branding drew inspiration from the area’s Dogtown roots, skate culture, and the iconic Santa Monica Pier. Everything was hand-rendered, including the now-iconic logo treatment, while the identity system blended vintage photography, grungy-chic beach culture references, and surf and skate aesthetics. The result is a visual language that celebrates the raw, authentic side of Santa Monica’s beach culture, perfectly complementing the venue’s easy, nostalgic atmosphere. Since its opening, The Bungalow has become a massive hit in Los Angeles, spawning multiple locations and cementing its status as a quintessential LA destination.
